Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Sales Representative to join a leading company in the wire, steel, fencing, and related products industry. The role involves assisting customers, generating sales, providing product advice, and managing client relationships while ensuring excellent service and efficient order processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the company’s overall sales growth.
Core Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development: Identify and prospect new clients to expand market share.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and high service levels.
Quoting & Negotiation: Prepare and present detailed technical quotes, negotiate pricing, and close sales deals.
Order Management: Process sales orders, ensuring accuracy of material specifications, and track deliveries to meet deadlines.
Technical Support: Advise clients on steel product selection, grades, and applications.
Market Intelligence: Stay updated on steel market trends, competitor activities, and pricing.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activity, and forecasts.
Key Requirements
Experience: Proven experience (often 2+ years) in sales within the steel, metal, or manufacturing industry.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of steel products, fabrication, or construction-related materials.
Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Tools: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Syspro) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Attributes: Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented.
Logistics: Valid driver’s license and own vehicle, as travel to client sites is often required.
